Dental implants

Dental implants can be considered as artificial tooth roots which are placed in the jaw bone and on which crown/bridge can be fabricated. Dental implants act as the best treatment option for missing teeth as they very closely restore the form and function of the natural teeth. They are also referred to as the third set of dentition. They can be used to replace either single, multiple or complete set of teeth.

Crowns/Bridges/Dentures

Crowns or caps are fabricated over natural teeth after preparation or on dental implants and bridges are mostly used to replace missing teeth by taking support from adjacent natural teeth.

There are broadly three types of crowns –

Full metal crowns – they are completely made of metal and are metallic in colour.

  •
  • Metal – ceramic crowns they are made of two layers, inner metal and outer tooth – coloured ceramic.
  •

Full ceramic crownsthey are completely made of tooth – coloured ceramic and thus have the best aesthetic appearance. Also they conserve the tooth structure as they require minimal tooth preparation and can provide maximum strength.

Dentures are removable appliances which replace missing teeth and surrounding  tissues. They are of two types –

Complete Dentures – Replace complete set of missing teeth.

Partial Dentures Replace few missing teeth.

Root canal treatment

Root canal treatment is a very common routine procedure performed on an infected or decayed tooth and is intended to relieve pain and save the tooth. The tooth hosts a pulpal tissue which consists of nerves and blood vessels. In root canal treatment, the infected pulp tissue is carefully removed from the root canals of the tooth, the root canals are cleaned, disinfected, shaped and filled with an inert material to seal the space

  • Root canal treatment generally requires 2 – 3 visits. Single sitting root canal treatment can also be done, provided other factors are favourable. At Dr. Raut Dental Clinic, root canal treatment is done with specialized machine (Endo-motor) for excellent results and convenience of the patients.

  •
  •
  • Ceramic braces These are the tooth coloured braces which function in a similar fashion as metal braces. The advantage of ceramic braces over metal braces is the looks.
  •
  • Advanced orthodontic treatment options include –

Lingual orthodontics In this treatment option, the braces are placed on the inner side of the teeth and thus are not visible while smiling and talking.

  • Clear aligners – This is the newest and most advanced aesthetic option to dental braces. In this treatment option, clear trays of special material are used to straighten the teeth..
